Madison, WI – We are delighted to announce that the IDDBA Cake Decorating Challenge will be celebrating its 25th anniversarye anniversary at IDDBA 20! For 25 years, we’ve seen 75 retail cake decorators compete with pride and passion as they display their creative skills. The event will take place at IDDBA 20 in Indianapolis, IN, from May 31 to June 2. Contestants compete against each other in a three-day competition where they make and decorate a variety of specialty cakes in size, theme and shape.
This challenge is open to supermarket decorators. Applicants will be chosen based on the quality of their submitted portfolio. The selection committee judges the portfolio based on the use of color and consistency, creativity and variety of techniques. The deadline for receipt of the portfolio and IDDBA registration form is Friday January 10, 2020. Applicants will be notified by the end of March if they are selected.
During the three-day event, participants will demonstrate their skills and wow participants and judges by filling a bakery crate, baking special occasion cakes on multiple levels, creating their own unique flavor profile for a cake that will be tasted and designing a themed sheet cake.
They will compete for the first, second and third place trophies. Not only will attendees gain recognition for themselves and their store, but they will further develop their skills and network, discover more potential, and discover cutting-edge trends and techniques to bring back to their store! Read the guidelines and submit your entry form for the opportunity to compete in Indianapolis.
